In the correct torque range, it can clamp parts and prevent slipping or damage. Therefore, the torque wrench has become an indispensable tool for car shops and professional riders. What else do we need to pay attention to when using it?


In a strict sense, a torque wrench is a measuring instrument. In particular, the mechanical preset type torque wrench commonly used in the industry can only be used to determine the torque when tightening the screw, and must not be used as a disassembly tool to loosen the screw that has been tightened. The preset type torque wrench is usually used in one direction. When the screw is tightened clockwise and the preset torque is reached, the connecting rod is pushed to generate an instantaneous disjoint effect and a prompt sound. Although it can be switched to counterclockwise by the ratchet dial, it can only be used to unscrew the loose screws.


The principle is that the static friction force in the screw tightening state is much larger than the dynamic friction force in the loose state, especially after the screw is installed for a period of time, the torque required to loosen the screw is much larger than the torque when tightening (up to 1.5 times). Reverse use makes it easy to jam the internal lever of the wrench, resulting in an inability to prompt during forward use, causing irreversible damage.
